Hi everyone,
Just thought i would get on here finally and let you all know what's been going on recently...
First of all, please accept my apologies for the lack of live shows. I've been so busy getting new material together...the live element really hasn't been a consideration over the last wee while. I've been wanting to get new songs up to scratch and get the new band broken in in the rehearsal studio before anything else.
The good news is that all of this has been going very well! The new material is sounding pretty cool, and we're excited about heading back out later this year and seeing you all. Can't wait in fact.
However, in other news, i have been working on an album with The Scruffs aka Memphis songsmith Stephen Burns. Stephen holds a certain cult status among musicians, being part of the Ardent studios and Stax records scene, and having toured with Blondie and many other big names 'back in the day'. The record is going to be called "Conquest", and features some Scottish indie royalty, including members of Belle & Sebastian and Teenage Fanclub. It has truly been an honour for me to appear as a member of the core band (guitars and backing vocals) on this project. We head to Memphis in June to mix it, and it will be with you towards the end of the summer we're hoping. So...something to keep you going i hope. I even sing quite high on it...
This website will be receiving a little makeover at some point in the not-too-distant future, and updates will be much more frequent. I promise.
I will be doing a couple of solo shows in California in September. The dates will be on here as soon as they are confirmed.
As far as the rest of you go, please be patient. We're coming...and it's going to be bigger and better than ever.
